Pray Psalm 100

Pray Psalm 100

The great Christian evangelist George Muller wrote, “I saw more clearly than ever, that the first great and primary business to which I ought to attend every day was, to have my soul happy in the Lord. The first thing to be concerned about was not, how much I might serve the Lord, how I might glorify the Lord; but how I might get my soul into a happy state, and how my inner man might be nourished.”

Take a second this morning to get your soul “happy in the Lord” with Psalm 100. I’ve included some prayer prompts for each verse:

1 Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth!
2 Serve the Lord with gladness!
Come into his presence with singing!

Think about all of creation glorifying God;
Thank Jesus for access to the presence of God;
Ask Jesus to grant you joy and gladness in your devotion to Him today.

3 Know that the Lord, he is God!
It is he who made us, and we are his;
we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.

Think about all the glorious attributes of God;
Thank Him for making you and calling you His own;
Ask Jesus to help you stay close to Him today as a sheep would with a shepherd.

4 Enter his gates with thanksgiving,
and his courts with praise!
Give thanks to him; bless his name!

Think about God's dwelling place where there's fullness of joy;
Thank Him for inviting you in through Jesus;
Ask Jesus for a thankful heart today that blesses His name.

5 For the Lord is good;
his steadfast love endures forever,
and his faithfulness to all generations.

Think about God's goodness, love, and faithfulness toward you;
Thank Him that you've experienced that goodness, love, and faithfulness;
Ask Jesus to help you trust that His goodness, love, and faithfulness will continue in your life today.

I love you all, and I'm praying your soul would be happy in the Lord today!

In Christ,
