Psalm 2:1-3 / Pray for Peace

1 Why do the nations rage
and the peoples plot in vain?
2 The kings of the earth set themselves,
and the rulers take counsel together,
against the Lord and against his Anointed, saying,
3 “Let us burst their bonds apart
and cast away their cords from us.” Psalm 2:1-3

With all of the ongoing and potential conflict in the world, I thought it would be good to pray for peace. This passage says that nations rage and the peoples plot in vain because they've set themselves against the Lord.

This is a global iteration of our personal experience with Jesus: following Him brings life and flourishing, whereas setting ourselves against Him brings death and destruction. The "kings" and "rulers" of this world do not follow Jesus and the result is death and destruction.

There is one hope for the world, one hope for peace—and that's our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Will you join us in praying for the ongoing and potential conflicts in the world?

  • Pray for innocent civilians impacted by these conflicts.

  • Pray for the families of those who have died in these conflicts.

  • Pray for protection for our men and women in the military.

  • Pray for our leaders, that we may lead peaceable lives.

  • Pray for revival.

  • Pray for Christians attempting to minister in these conflicts.

  • Pray for God's mercy on us all for abandoning Jesus, our only hope for life and flourishing.

  • Praise Jesus that He is coming back to establish the perfect Kingdom that we desperately long to see.
