A Prayer Through Psalm 25

This morning, let’s walk through and pray a Psalm that King David wrote out to the Lord. Take time to pray it out as you begin to reflect on who God is and what He has done for you.

25 To you, O Lord, I lift up my soul.
O my God, in you I trust;
    let me not be put to shame;
    let not my enemies exult over me.
Indeed, none who wait for you shall be put to shame;
    they shall be ashamed who are wantonly treacherous.

God, thank you for being trustworthy! Thank you for listening to me when I pray to you – thank you for being a place I can come bear my soul. Lord, I trust that as I lean into you, I will not be put into shame. I won’t be embarrassed or come up looking foolish. Help me to turn to you in times of need, and to trust you!

Make me to know your ways, O Lord;
    teach me your paths.
Lead me in your truth and teach me,
    for you are the God of my salvation;
    for you I wait all the day long.

Lord, I desperately need your wisdom! Help me to be open to your guidance and direction. Teach me your ways, lead me in truth. You saved me and gave me the ability to be in communion with you daily – so please speak, I am listening!

Remember your mercy, O Lord, and your steadfast love,
    for they have been from of old.
Remember not the sins of my youth or my transgressions;
    according to your steadfast love remember me,
    for the sake of your goodness, O Lord!

God, there are times I think about my past and worry that it has not been fully forgiven. Yet, from the beginning you have been faithful. You have loved me at my worst. Please help me to rest in your promises!

Good and upright is the Lord;
    therefore he instructs sinners in the way.
He leads the humble in what is right,
    and teaches the humble his way.
10 All the paths of the Lord are steadfast love and faithfulness,
    for those who keep his covenant and his testimonies.

Father, thank you for being good! Thank you for walking with me through life and not leaving me on my own to figure it out. Please help me to always be humble and teachable – open to your direction. Following you leads to love and faithfulness, help me to experience those benefits fully!

11 For your name's sake, O Lord,
    pardon my guilt, for it is great.
12 Who is the man who fears the Lord?
    Him will he instruct in the way that he should choose.
13 His soul shall abide in well-being,
    and his offspring shall inherit the land.
14 The friendship of the Lord is for those who fear him,
    and he makes known to them his covenant.
15 My eyes are ever toward the Lord,
    for he will pluck my feet out of the net.

Lord, you promise good things for me as I choose to walk with you – in you I find instruction, I abide in well-being, and even my children will be blessed! Father, help me to experience friendship with you! To learn to communicate with you throughout the day, and throughout my week. Thank you for being a good, relatable God! Thank you for caring for me! Help me to make each step to bring you glory today.

Amen

Blessings,

Pastor Dave
