Revelation 21/ The New Heaven and New Earth

I recently saw Mount Rainer from Paradise in Mount Rainer National Park. The one word that flooded my mind was, "majestic." The views were worship-inducing to say the least. I watched group after group just marvel and gawk as they stood before the 14,410-foot summit. And God created that with a word.

When God makes something, we can expect it to be majestic. We will stand in awe of it. Revelation 21 records John's vision of God's creation of the New Heaven and New Earth. This chapter describes sights that will likely put Mount Rainer to shame. People will worship, and every word we can think of to describe it will fall short.

Read Revelation 21 then reflect on these questions:

  • Reflect on a time when you marveled at God's creation.

  • Why does God's creation make us want to worship?

  • How has our worship been impacted by sin?

  • Based on Revelation 21:5, how will our worship be redeemed when The New Heaven and Earth is established?

  • What comfort does Revelation 21—and the promise of The New Heaven and New Earth—bring to your life today?

" 4 He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away. 5 And he who was seated on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.” Also he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.” Revelation 21:4-5

Let's worship our way into The New Heaven and New Earth!
