Isaiah 43:1-7 / Praying Isaiah 43

There are some passages, that when read at the right time, grip you. They resonate deep down to your core and affirm the exact truths you needed affirmed. They calm the very lies you were beginning to listen to. I have found that God’s Word is like that. The Holy Spirit takes the letters formed into words, sentences, paragraphs, and chapters, and He illuminates them in ways that speak right down into our current situations.

So as we pray this passage today, I hope it sends a jolt of truth-filled courage, peace, and excitement into your bones.

Father, please speak to me through Your Word today…

43 But now thus says the Lord,
he who created you, O Jacob,
    he who formed you, O Israel:
“Fear not, for I have redeemed you;
    I have called you by name, you are mine.

God, You formed me, You created me, You know me more deeply than anyone on this earth ever will. As my Creator, I trust in You

Thank you for redeeming me despite my failures. Thank you for erasing all fear of rejection. Fear of being unloved. Fear of not being known.

You have redeemed me, you have called me by my name, and I am Yours.

2 When you pass through the waters, I will be with you;
    and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you;
when you walk through fire you shall not be burned,
    and the flame shall not consume you.

Father, help me to remember in each trial and test that You are with me.

I praise You, for You will not let me be overwhelmed, if I will rest in You.

I know that in this life I will walk through fire. Challenges will come. People will hurt me. Jobs will be lost, and failures will occur.

None of the challenges I face in this life are too great for my God. You are my strength and my shield, my portion. You will cover me and carry me when I am too weak.

3 For I am the Lord your God,
    the Holy One of Israel, your Savior.
I give Egypt as your ransom,
    Cush and Seba in exchange for you.

God, thank you for being Holy. Thank you for being my Savior. You are the same and You do not change. Just as You brought salvation to Israel, You have now made it available to me as well.

Thank you for saving me.

4 Because you are precious in my eyes,
    and honored, and I love you,
I give men in return for you,
    peoples in exchange for your life.

Father, thank You for seeing me as precious. Thank you for loving me, even in my unlovable moments.

It is hard to fathom the lengths You have gone to save me. The price Your Son paid on my behalf affirms me in Your love and reminds me of my value in Your eyes.

5 Fear not, for I am with you;
    I will bring your offspring from the east,
    and from the west I will gather you.

God, thank You for Your continual presence.

Thank you that you never leave me or forsake me.

Thank you for surrounding me with the people that I love and for being a God who gathers.

6 I will say to the north, Give up,
    and to the south, Do not withhold;
bring my sons from afar
    and my daughters from the end of the earth,

7 everyone who is called by my name,
    whom I created for my glory,
    whom I formed and made.”

God, thank You for sparing no expense in seeking and saving the lost!

Thank You for coming from Heaven to Earth to bring Your children back in relationship with You.

I praise You for being a God of seeking, a God of saving, and a God Who pursues and redeems.

YOU. ARE. GOOD. IN YOU I CAN CONFIDENTLY WALK THROUGH THIS WORLD WITHOUT FEAR.

I love you, Lord.

Help me to worship You today.

Amen.

Blessings,

Pastor Dave
