Matthew 13:44-46 / One Thing.

Matthew 13:44-46 / One Thing.

44 “The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field, which a man found and covered up. Then in his joy he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field.
45 “Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant in search of fine pearls, 46 who, on finding one pearl of great value, went and sold all that he had and bought it.

Imagine selling all you had to gain one thing.

You put your house up for sale, craigslist your clothes, list your car, and donate the rest.

What would be worth the effort and sacrifice?

And, what would be the hardest thing to let go of?

Jesus says HIS Kingdom is worth giving up everything else.

Knowing and finding salvation in Him is like finding a hidden treasure and a pearl of great price.

There is nothing in this world that compares to its value. Nothing.

With so many things being stripped away in the last year, we have a unique opportunity to re-evaluate and re-center where we have placed our values.

What are we not willing to “sell” or get rid of in order to gain more of Christ?

What are we treasuring more than our relationship with Him?

If, upon finding something that we hold more precious, we let it go and lean deeper into our relationship with Christ, we will not be disappointed.

Because nothing in this world compares to Him.

With much love,

Pastor Dave
