ROOTS DISCIPLESHIP CHALLENGE Week 8 / Resolving Conflict
Hello folks,
This week we are going to focus on resolving conflict biblically. Not surprisingly, Scripture has a lot to say about resolving conflict.
Why is that not surprising?
Because we all know that conflict is something that can happen easily and often, even within a healthy community. In fact, if there is no conflict, that is often a sign that relationships are not healthy and issues are being avoided rather than lovingly worked through.
The longer I go in my walk with Christ, the more I am convinced that a church’s ability to resolve conflict is a major indicator of that church’s long-time stability and growth. If we as believers never approach disagreements in love, but instead avoid, eventually either bitterness will form, or, blowouts will occur. We have got to learn how to lovingly but boldly work through differences, forgiving others with the same forgiveness we received from Christ.
Please watch and read these helpful resources, and at some point this week stop and ask the Lord to reveal any relationships you might need to make right.
I pray that as you do, God will grant you the wisdom and the love to say what needs to be said with grace and love, and that deeper unity and friendship will be the result.
With much love,
Pastor Dave
