1 Timothy‬ ‭1:15-16‬ / A Person God Can Use.

“The saying is trustworthy and deserving of full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am the foremost. But I received mercy for this reason, that in me, as the foremost, Jesus Christ might display his perfect patience as an example to those who were to believe in him for eternal life.”

“I am too far gone for God to save.”

“The mistakes made in my past disqualify me from ministry.”

“I’m too old to start a ministry.”

“God can’t do big things through me because_______.”

If you’ve had any of these thoughts, Paul has a message for you today.

God can use ANY person for His Kingdom.

Any person.

Doesn’t matter your age, your background, the things you’ve done in your past, the time you’ve wasted, the habits you can’t kick;

God can use you!

Paul wants you to know that God came to save sinners - even the greatest sinner - and He can use those saved by grace to then beautifully display the very grace that saved them.

A part of why Paul’s miraculous conversion is in Scripture is to show us what is possible.

God took what was weak and sinful in Paul and through his Holy Spirit used it as a living example of grace.

If God can take a man who viciously persecuted the church and use him to start a church-planting movement, He can do the same through you.

Satan loves to point out our failures, exploit our weaknesses, and shame us with our past.

God loves to teach us through our failures, show His power through our weaknesses, and redeem our past.

If you are actively serving God with your life right now, keep going strong!

If you are not sure where to begin serving God, start by asking Him:

Lord, where do you want to use me?

What can you take from my broken life to “display Your perfect patience as an example” to those who might believe?

God can do great things through ANYONE willing to follow Him.

With much love,

Pastor Dave
