Exodus 14:14/ Our Lord Fights

Exodus 14:14/ Our Lord Fights

"The LORD will fight for you, and you have only to be silent." Exodus 14:14

If someone asked you to describe God with 10 words I don’t think the word “fighter” would make your list.

It’s not the first attribute that comes to mind when we think of God. But why not?

After all, according to the Bible, we do have an enemy. There is a spiritual battle ensuing. So, we need a God who fights.

This passage was spoken by Moses to God’s people in a very dangerous moment. They had just fled Eypgt, the Egyptians were chasing them, and they were wedged between them and the Red Sea.

God miraculously parted the Red Sea allowing His people to pass through as the Egyptians drowned when the water returned. He fought for His people.

Afterward, they sang a song to the Lord and this was one of the lines:

"The LORD is a man of war; the LORD is his name." Exodus 15:3

Our Lord fights! What battles are you facing?

God is prepared to fight for us! Identify your battles. Admit you can’t win them alone. Invite God into them. And trust that He can bring you victory.

In Christ,

Pastor Kevin
